Need a new gas cap cork

Post by jbills » Wed May 11, 2011 7:33 am

Anyone know the best (and most economic) place to obtain a new gas tank cap cork seal for a 1968 CL77? While we are at it, who has the best price on the metal replacement tank badges?

This forum has been a great and has helped me more times than I can say.

You can get both items at the Honda dealer. The cork is now rubber. There is a gentleman that sells plastic repro badges for $60 including shipping and 4 new screws.

I bought a set of those badges this winter and they look great. Very pleased with them.

You may already know this, but the CL did not come with metal badges. You see bikes with them because they are readily available and cheap.

regards,
Rob

Not sure if this helps but I have a spare rubber seal... I dont know how different it will perform when compared to the cork but im happy to mail it to you if you want to give it a run.
