What is it? Does it come out?

Post by zoom » Mon May 16, 2011 9:12 pm

My project is the 64 CA77, I am working on the carb currently. I am disassembling the carb and prepping for the ultrasonic bath. There is one piece I cannot remove, maybe its not supposed to come out or there is a trick to it. On the parts list it is not numbered, but its in the diagram and I see no reference to it searching the forum. It lies in the air intake side, next to the throttle valve in its own space, the choke switch runs through a "hinge" that has a pin index on it, crescent shaped. IT must be part of the choke ass. How do I get it out? I'am learning as I go. Thanks for any info.

I assume ya are describing the Choke Plate with the Flapper in it.
May I recommend ya leave it and the lever in the carb as ya clean it as that Plate is a SOB to get out/in.
I just did one of those carbs and the Flapper was loose when I removed the Plate and took me an hour to fix it then get it back in the carb body. ................lm
