carb overflowing

Bike runs great, but after awhile it starts coughing and sputtering. I noticed gas was pouring out the carb. overflow. I did switch to a uni pod air filter, would that have any thing to do with it?

No, you probably have a float that isn't, or a dirty fuel system/tank that is letting rust, grit, etc into the float chamber and keeping the needle from seating. Check the float height too, some (including me) have had better luck with it set up a few mm higher than spec.

Took the carb. apart today. Found a huge piece of sludge under the float needle, cleaned it reset the float and that did it.
