CL77 Float in Carb Hangs up

Post by sibes67 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:52 pm

Read a lot of posts on carb floats, but have not seen any saying one could just squeeze together with a small amount of pressure, the entire float mechanism. Can this be done? I ask because one float hits the gasket, and other float almost touches the housing. I realize these are fragile, so don't want to do this if I may break something. Carbs are off bike right now, and I have cleaned them very well. Thanks.

Yes - Bend them so they don't bind up. Sometimes you have to trim the gasket a little too. I think those floats are still available from Honda if that gives you a little more confidence:)
