Correct Gas Cap CL77

Post by sibes67 » Thu Nov 01, 2012 7:41 pm

My bike a 66, has a locking gas cap. The rubber seal is old and cracked so I doubt it really seals anyway. Would this be an original gas cap? Other posts have mentioned a vent hole, which I see no evidence on this cap. Does Honda still have original type caps?
Thanks for the help.

Ron,

The locking gas cap is aftermarket. You can still get a new gas cap from Honda, though it's taller than the origional, and chrome rather than stainless.

Local shop ordered one for me, looks great; about $13 with the gasket. Thanks for the source tip.
