Ok, half an hour in a 50C ultrasonic bath of water and 5% orange degreaser, and lots of dirt came out of places that I didn't know existed. Reset the float height and the air jet and it started after a 1/2 second push of the button. I'm calling it a big win. This week I get the mufflers back from the welder's and well see if the bogging is gone. Wish me luck.

Thanks G-man for the great tip.

Great to hear about your success. The ultrasonic bath is one of they best piece of workshop equipment I have ever owned. My only regret is not buying a bigger one..... :-)
