Well, it's hopeless.

The bike won't hold an idle.. Up to 2000, down to 600, then 1200 for a while, then back up, then down.

And the bogging down off the line is worse - thought I solved that weeks ago.

My 160 is at least twice as fast as this bike.

This bike is cursed.

I am at least 400 hours in, and I don't even want to talk about the money.

I think it's time to sell.

I expect you will be hearing from the next owner.

I read in the Bill Silver materials about some of these bikes that just were incapable of holding an idle for whatever reason. I feel for you, buddy. I suspect I would have thrown many a tool around the garage if in your shoes.

It's a 2 cylinder 4 stroke and with all the data available plus those of us who have helped it can/will run when.
Ya have compression, gas and timing at the proper amount and time.
Your bike isn't any different than all of that model which run today other than the TUNE. Sell it if ya must. .............lm

I really should part it out.

It's too cruel to let someone else have this bike.

I hear you, but I have real all the books, you have talked to me for hours, friends I know that completely rebuild dozens of Hondas have all tried with this bike, and it's still goofy.

The carbs have been cleaned over and over, the floats checked by three different people, the timing set at least six times, the valves checked twice.

The tank completed replaced, petcock replaced then cleaned twice, two batteries, two different solid state rectifiers.

The clutch rebuilt, points replaced, spark cables and caps replaced, exhaust gaskets replaced, all manner of air filters tried, three different jets, two different sets of needles, four different needle positions, two throttle cables.

Compressions checked by three different people, all with readings on both at about 150.

I have read the tuning recipe so many times my eyes are crossed.

I accept that I am a novice, but there is no way this bike is this hard to tune without something really WRONG.

I have seriously been thinking about taking a week off and hauling this bike out to Texas......

Mike gave me a very good deal on another set of carbs. I am going to build those up and strap them on and see what happens.

Personally, my idiot, uninformed opinion is the advancer is shot.

Sorry to be such a burden on the forum. But at least maybe my fight to the death with this bike has been entertaining for some folks.
