Drop the floats in a pot of hot water and look for bubbles. If you see any coming from the float it is leaking and needs to be replaced. Leaking floats will cause too much gas in the bowl and flooding.

Don't do it when momma's in the kitchen though!

When a carb float gets a hole and gets fuel in it, it will sink or run lower than normal. Causing the needle and seat to never shut off the fuel flow. Yes , ditch it. I connect a hose to the fuel inlet and blow in it(with my mouth) while setting the float height. No question when it stops flowing fuel using this method.

so i replaced my floats and set them and got my bike idling again. but since it flooded on the right side and gas came out the muffler. is it normal for it to smoke out the right muffler for a while to burn it all away?
