Could he have set the tube in the wrong position? The petcock would be in the "on" position but would really be running on "reserve". Learned that the hard way!

Good point, Mike. I didn't think it would in the reserve orifice. Does it?

I was on the highway and felt that lack of power from running out of fuel. I switched over to reserve, but the engine died anyway and I coasted to the side of the road. I looked in the tank and she was empty.
So, my question is what do I need to do to my petcock to get it to work? Maybe the main tube is too short or has a crack or something?
