Here in the 60's CB72/77 had low bars the high bars were for US and maybe others.

The Easy rider film (move) did a lot to change the way bike started to look in the 60's we called the realy high bars ape hangers I never went down that road on the race track no one had high bars all the race bikes had low ones and that is what I wanted to be a racer, now I could not care less about speed.

They do look racey with the low bars. I bought my cb750 from the estate of the original owner and he had put apes on it back in 1974. I thought they made tbe poor thing look like a donkey.

What do the high bars look like?

I've ordered all of the parts needed to rebuild the carbs. Thanks to Loud Mouse for his valuable help. Now I just have to wait for stuff to arrive.

As an update, I managed to rebuild the carbs and the petcock, clean out the gas tank and install a new throttle cable. Thanks to Loud Mouse for new slides. After waiting what seemed like forever for the carb spacer o- rings, got everything back together today. I put a small amount of fresh gas into the tank and looked for leaks. The petcock leaked like crazy, but it was an easy fix. I'd made a simple mistake in reassembly by putting the wavy metal spring washer on the wrong side of the petcock handle. With that sorted out, I hit the starter button to find the battery almost dead, but it started up after a few tries with the kick starter. I let it warm up and attempted to adjust the idle and smooth it out. It isn't running badly, but needs more fiddling. I'll have to attempt it again tomorrow. I don't have a great deal of experience with this, so it'll take me awhile to get it right. Meanwhile, the battery is on a trickle charger, so I hope to be able to use the starter motor next time.

That's Great Seadog.
Maybe when you get her idling the way you want you can post a YouTube video. I love to watch them running. My CB72/77 Playlist has 77 videos last time I checked.
Other Seadog

Steve, would you mind sending me a link to a video of a CB77 idling perfectly? I may sound silly, but part of my problem adjusting the carbs is that I don't know what to listen for.

I am in way over my head on this Seadog.
I like the sound of the first one here. But I believe it is a 180 crank.
