to be perfectly clear, this is with tang just touching the springy part of needle valve, not with spring compressed, right?

Looks like more of the jet holder is showing here than with the LM eyeball method, but this might just be from angle of pic.

On the money with that, Lee.

Yes, my jet holder (OE Keihin) is substantially taller than that which is required for Ed's 'line of sight' measurement. And the needlejet that you see is protruding because it's of the ISOmetric threaded variety, whereas the jet holder is JIS-threaded. Not my doing -- it's how I bought the carbs (and didn't notice!)

Steve, could it be that you have a CA or CL jet holder instead of CB? They show different part #'s, but I'm not sure if there is a difference in length......which might explain the line of sight method not agreeing with the guage setting?

Don't know that there IS any difference or not, just threw it out as a question.
If some parts have been substituted, then others may have also...ie float valve assy, float itself, etc.
I didn't think the Keyster kits had jet holders included anyway.

Interesting that IF you measure the PW22 float height (26.5mm) from the carb body recess (not gasket surface)....as Steve's float gauge shows, the float lines up with the main jet holder (jet removed), as with LM's method for PW26's.

COINCIDENCE? Or does this mean the height should be measured from the recess, rather than the gasket surface?

Can some one tell me the correct routing of carb cable.
Is it 1st hole closet to forks or second hole on the frame under gas tank?
