No problem Red, .........I'm not that familiar with the CB carb settings, but I have been tweaking my CA carb to match the non stock pipes and air filter lately.

I will definitely try that Brewsky. Thanks for the suggestions. Every little bit helps. By the way that is my husbands nickname.... Brewsky. His name is Bruce, and well in our partying days..... you get the picture.

oh and about the speed, I don't anticipate ever needing to go over 65 mph. I just wanted to know IF it should be able to do 65, given that everytime I try to go over 53 mph my bike goes into a coughing fit!

Well we fixed the slipping clutch issue, and I "think" we might have located the "coughing problem". My petcock rebuild materials do not like todays fuel apparently. After riding it for sometime, about 400 miles so far, the materials have swelled, and when the petcock is turned to run, I get just a trickle of gas, when I turn it to reserve, I get a little more, but not much more. It looks like I will be either re-rebuilding the petcock, or perhaps swapping out this one for a different modern version. I'd like to keep it pretty much original, but this is like the 4th time we've had to rebuild this thing. Any suggestions?

Kellie,

Glad to see you are enjoying your bike (minus the little hiccups). Are you using Retro Bikes petcock rebuild kit? If so are you using the lower cork gasket or the rubber one? The parts are still available from Honda and I never had a problem when I used OE petcock rebuild parts. I have not had any long term test experience with the retrobikes CA77 rebuild kit concerning fuel induced rubber swelling.

Is the swelling because of the ethynol in the fuel? We only use non-ethynol fuel in our bikes (on hubby's insistance). Ethynol damaged so many parts in his boat that he will only use ethynol gas in the cars becausewe use them every day and don't sit as long as the bikes do. Especially here in Florida. The ethynol attracts the humidity in the air. Just curious....
