I've seen 145's, but I'd try the 140's and see how it runs.

Not trying to jack the thread, but I have a similar question. What should be the best starting point for jetting a cb77 engine running Kenig pistons, velocity stacks, and open megaphones?

I'd start with one size larger on both pilot and main. Jetting takes time, trial and error. Do one change at a time, and ride to see if it's better or worse.

Thanks Dave. Where would I find jets for these old carbs?

Ah yes, that is tough! I'd try posting in the parts wanted section here.

Bringing this thread back.

So after talking to Ed, I got the engine running way better. Problem now is most likely jetting though. Starts first kick most times without choke, idles great and revs great to around 6k ish, which is about the most I'll take her sitting still.

Once again, the engine is a '64 CB77 with Kenig pistons 3 over with new rings, velocity stacks and homemade exhaust without baffles. Like I've mentioned in other threads, I may try some baffles and see if they help?

I'm running 147/150 mains and slightly bigger than stock (42) pilot jets. Float set correctly and needle in middle position. The bike seems to pop a lot at high rpm (over 7500) and doesn't have a lot of power.

I'm thinking I may be a bit rich?

Popping usually indicates lean condition. Do a throttle chop at higher RPM, and pull plugs. Should be a nice coco bromn.
