Carb rebuild kit

Post by Eljeef » Tue Aug 04, 2009 8:39 pm

Hi folks. I want to rebuild my carb on my 65 dream c77. I keep seeing that the K.....r kits are less than ideal so what would you recommend to use to rebuild the carb? Keep all my old jets and use all the other stuff from some rebuild kit? I appreciate the input if any, Jeff.

The C77 kit isn't correct when it comes to jets and needle.
Those parts seldom wear out and a good cleaning will be a good thing.
All ya will need is the bowl gasket.
That said the CB77 kits are right on. ............lm

Thanks Mr. Mouse. With that information, I can get to cleaning immediately. :)

In a pervious post I mentioned that I solved leaky float bowls on my CL77 by replacing the Keyster float bowl gaskets with Honda brand gaskets. LM, have you experienced any problems with the Keyster gaskets?

Is there a way you can install them incorrectly assuming of course the gasket is seated in the carb body correctly before the bowl goes on?

If they have had gas (any brand of gasket) on them and have had the bowl removed they swell and the sides bend into the carb area which allows the gas to come over the edges.
If ya put them in the sun for a time they go back to actual size for a couple of times. .....................lm
