I'm completely new- to mechanics, to motorcycles- everything. So bear with me, because this could be really obvious. I've searched all I could and have come up with nothing, here goes:
I have a '63 CA77. I cleaned the carb but did not replace the jets or needle as everything looked pretty clean and workable. I did replace the float bowl gasket. I rebuilt the petcock completely. Fuel is flowing from the tap freely now, so that problem is licked, but all of a sudden when I open the tap the bowl overflows. It's not from the hose, it's clearly overflowing. I haven't made any adjustments to the carb float; I can't think of any logical reason this happening.
When it does start it idles high- almost at full throttle. I took the carb apart and made sure my throttle is freely sliding and it appears to be. Maybe the cable is kinked or sticky; I'll have to look into that.
