Are the screws that hond the petcock on to the tank J.I.S.? CA77, BTW. Does this affect thread size, or just head size?

what if it is a 65 CA77? the 6X25 (m6 X 25 with 1.00 pitch) do not fit. Nor do 5x25 with .8 pitch.

Hi,

JIS, on a 65 ? Are you sure that this is the original gas tank ?
I have a few gas tanks lying around, and I will look into this matter to verify. and I'll come back on this after the weekend,

That is the direction I am heading....It is possible that it is from a different bike.

"6x25mm are 6x1.0 regular screws.. same ISO and JIS.

5mm JIS screws are found on Benly 125-150s petcocks...." Bill Silver

The parts book says 6x25, but that is not correct on my tank.
The 6mm threads didn't change pitch anyway...only 3, 4, 5, and 12 mm.
My guess is 5mm with old pitch, the 6mm will not even start in the holes on mine.
