I've been thru both carbs and the bike runs pretty well. But it does seem a bit anemic in mid-range and throttle roll on at speed. Here is what I found in the carbs when I cleaned and inspected them.

Slides 2.0
Main 130
Slow 38
Needle - no numbers, 4 notches

I have a CB77 manual and it indicates that stock jets on the CB77 are 135 Main and 42 Slow with a 2.0 slide.

Previous owner cut the tip off the muffler and gutted it. So essentially I'm running straight pipes. Plugs are a nice tan/brown.

Needle has 4 notches and was set at the top-most notch. I've dropped it to the second from the top with no noticeable difference.

Questions are:

Are the '67 CL77 stock jets the same as the CB77?
Am I running on the ragged edge of too lean for straight pipes?

Tim at ClassicHondaRestoration said that you don't have to rejet if you gut the muffler because it provided little if any back pressure. Not sure I agree with that since it did silence the exhaust so there is some restriction to flow.

All the jets have the Keihin star-shaped K on them so they are not Keyster jets.

I did a search for CL77 jets here and did not find anything CL77 specific.

Rob, jets are the same for CB CL 77s. The needle is the only part that is different. Stock clip position is second groove from bottom.
