Today was my longest trip on the hawk so far covering about 60 miles. I didn't think about gas at all cause I thought I had a reserve. Well, I don't. I was on the highway and felt that lack of power from running out of fuel. I switched over to reserve, but the engine died anyway and I coasted to the side of the road. I looked in the tank and she was empty.
So, my question is what do I need to do to my petcock to get it to work? Maybe the main tube is too short or has a crack or something?

The stand pipe must be missing or cracked at the least for this to happen. If the tank was completly empty. If it fuel remained it could just be plugged.

I agree with Goo; the brass tube inserted into the petcock for main the depository is possibly cracked. They do crack very easily when manipulating out for rebuilding/cleaning of the ass'y.
Make a new one from a similar length of copper tubing; copper isn't brittle, unlike thinwall brass tubing.
That, of course, assuming that you did refit it when rebuilding the petcock!

There's a thought, Ed. However, the (OE) petcock is clearly marked, so t'would take a right numpty to misread Honda's intended use.
Incidentally , 56-cricketground, everyone, be sure to use thinwall copper tube when replacing the OE stuff; normal copper tube may not provide sufficient flow when the bike is 'on-song'.
