Modern-ish Carbs?
Is anyone running more modern (or even just aftermarket) carbs on their CB77? Mkuni's or D'llortos? Or are the Keihins the only thing that will work? I was looking at maybe swapping mine out for something with better parts availability, and maybe the option to vacuum sync.

Vince Lupo and Spargett have both successfully fitted and jetted Amal Concentrics.
I have a pair of Amals, with velocity stacks and all parts and paperwork collecting dust.
They were mounted once, then I went back to stock because I located some good stock carbs.
If anyone has a need for them, I will let them go cheap to a member.
The most important thing with this mod is taking your time with the throtle cable shortening. If you dont get those end caps on right, the cable will jump out of the housing at random times and send your idle all over the place.

I may convert if I can't make the keihin's work. Loudmouse seems to have a lot of faith in them. It seems difficult to find different jets for the PW26's. Can anyone tell me if any of these will work?
With my pod filters and dunstall exhausts, I'm anticipating somewhere between 140-145

There are some honda scooters that have reed systems. It was just a question, honestly. There isn't room in the superhawk frame for reed cages, so it was just a question based on theory.
The instances I found where reed systems are used on 4T bikes was to prevent air and fuel from being forced out of the intake valve before it closed. They were fitted this way from the factory, so they must serve a purpose. Something about reed petals being a "one way valve".
I'm not on expert on any of this stuff, just trying to learn. I'm use to 2stroke vespas, which are about the most simple motor there is.
