Petcock and fuel lines

I have a 68 Honda ca77 and I have no idea how the petcock and the two fuel lines connect or connect into the carb. the petcock to me does not make sense seems how the fuel line does not come from it. How does the pet cock work for this bike? and would anyone remove the fuel stem on the tank by the petcock and replace with a modern petcock? if anyone has pics that would be appreciated!!

Connect the two barbs on the bottom of the tank (one on the right, one on the left) together with 8mm fuel hose. These balance the fuel levels on the two sides of the tank. Connect the barb on the bottom, back of the petcock to the carb with 6mm fuel hose. You might want to include a small inline fuel filter between the petcock and the carb.

Perfect now that makes sense! iv seen several set ups where someone used an inline fuel shut off on both nobs of the tank! thank you guys very much for the help!

There are petcock kits on e bay. A good one will run $60. Stock petcocks were a bad design I rebuilt mine a couple of times but now happy with the "Harley Style" petcock.
