Hi, On the CL 77 is it better to powder coat the side covers,
or Spray paint it.
Thanks,
Gordon Kreltszheim

Up to you. Powder coat will take a lot more abuse. Easier to find the correct color with paint.

I would paint them but that is my preference.

Paint allows to fill imperfections. While the powder coat is durable it is more difficult to repair. A relatively flat area like that I think paint would be preferential.

Hi, Thanks, I will take your advise & get the covers painted, where could you purchase,& the name of the company, a Left hand engine cover Gasket gear lever side, for a 1965 model CA77 I live in Sydney., Could you form a synthetic, silicone gasket? will it work.
Thanks,
Gordon.

HI Gordon

I am not sure if not fitting the gasket will put pressure on the shaft that supports the oil filter. It would probably work with silicon but I have not tried it and you would need to measure the tolerances.

Davidsilverspares.com have the gasket although it will be more economical long term to buy a full kit . the below site has the full set and shipping is a few days from Japan.
