throttle twistgrip

On my 66 305 the twist grip does not have a stop when backing the throttle off. Is part #13 "stopper, throttle cable" supposed to stop it. Help would be appreciated. Thanks

I take it it's a CA77? If so, yes the slide should stop against it when the cable is adjusted properly-BUT- there will still be slop in the hand grip because of the way grip engages the slide, more if there is internal wear.
