Petcock hose barb

Post by deuce_7 » Sun Dec 08, 2019 12:08 pm

Apologize if this is redundant; haven't been able to get Search to work yet as site improvement continues.

1967 CL77:

One of the petcock hose barbs fell out and is long gone. OD is ~ 6mm; believe it's a press fit into the petcock housing (non-threaded).

Any one know where to obtain a new one? Or one from a member's spares supply would do nicely.

Thanks,
1967 CL77 305 Scrambler

There are several options.

a) get some plain brass 6mm brass tube and press in. You won't have the barb but should be able to clamp the pipe on
b) get someone to make you a new barb
c) buy any old Honda fuel tap and rob one of the barbs

I've had excellent results with cleaning the barb itself and the petcock ID, then using a thin film of either red Loctite or JB Weld (my preference) on the OD of the barb, and pressing them back together. Regards, Chase
