Welcome to the forum! Please edit your location into your profile when you get a chance. Points arcing most likely a weak condenser. What needles are in the carbs, and which groove are the clips in?

well i just replaced points and condenser....(new both) and have tried EVERY clip position,so far ran the best in the middle position...i mean it idles great starts great zips around great but when you start getting into the throttle is doesnt die but cuts out i really think i have tried everything but if the problem persist i have obviously missed something...im not sure if you would call it arking but i noticed some yellow spark behind the breaker arms(what makes contact w the points shaft) coming from the point contacts.i contacted bill silver last fall because it would go over 20mph he set me up w 140 jets from the stock cuz i am running dream low staight pipes(at the time cl77 hi pipes)ive done the pull the choke while ur riding trick it does cut out that is supposed to indicate whether you are too lean so i assume from the results of that i am close to being right with the mix...air screws are 1 1/2 out ...could it be rectifier...it charges fine holds ,charge fine...idk it is such a kick a@$ bike and just want it to be tip top.....thanks guys and thankyou ever so much for the humble and thoughtful welcome to the site ...nice people truly do ride hondas..LOL!

You could try the old stock Honda needles in there and see if that fixes things.

The problem is on the needle and needle jet, so that is where you need to focus. What needle jets are in there and have you measured them accurately? IIRC the jet bore is 2.60mm (like many Hondas).

D13 is the size of needle jets w 140 main jets...its running straght pipes, was just wondering if they disagree w each other...any experts out there know...ive had this bike for a year and its been all work so i am new at the honda twins and need any help i can get...was running good up until 40 mph when i try to accellerate from there it cuts out ,also with heavy acceleration thru the gears
