Have seen past posts which could relate to this subject. The instruction diagram that comes with petcock rebuild kits is wrong,so if any one followed this diagram check your installation.
The diagram shows the feed tube to the right of the tang on the fuel cock plate,it should be to the left of the tang, or just opposite to what the diagram shows. If installed as diagram depicts the 'on' position would actually be in reserve.
In the following picture the red line is where the tube should go ( remember how you take things apart). Been there done that.
This kit came from Retro Bikes (don't know if other kits have the same diagram).This should in no way reflect badly on Retro Bikes as I am sure they do not make up the instruction sheet. I've had good luck with a lot of their products.....Jk

contacted Terry from Retro Bikes and he informed me that the diagram came from the honda parts manual.I never checked that but lo & behold it is a screw up in the parts manual.....Jk
