Light white puffs of smoke

Post by readyjimm » Wed May 09, 2012 10:12 am

Okay, this is my first motorcycle, and as of now its pretty easy to work on. But when i fire up the bike, she has these little intermittent puffs of white smoke. Don't get me wrong they arent WHITE just a casper the friendly ghost color. I'm curious if i need to be worried. As of now i want her to be able to run for the summer and then in the winter i will be working on a full restore. should i adjust the carb? or anything else i should do?

Thanks to the entire forum for all the tips and advice.

Could just be condensation burning off. The other suspect would be a little oil running down the valve guides. These do not have valve guide seals, and are prone to that. neither sounds like an issue. you can do a compression check, and sleep better at night.
