Repo Shocks on EBAY

Post by dastehr » Sat Nov 26, 2011 3:42 pm

Does anyone know anything about the black reproduction rear shocks for CL77 & CB77's listed on EBAY for around $80 plus shipping. Are they junk and am I better of buying something like HAGON or try to rebuild a set? http://www.ebay.com/itm/190602564214?ss ... 1423.l2649

I think someone on this site bought a set, and said they are junk. The weld broke on the bottom clevis mount. Hagons look close to origionals, or there are redwing, s&w, koni, etc . Search around on Ebay.

If you're doing an early, accurate resto, buy some used and have them refinished. In the hands of the right guy any shock can be replated to new condition. I know a guy in Seattle that worked miracles on my O.G. 1962 shocks.

If, for you, form follows function, go with the Hagons. Good price and aesthetically are close enough to the originals. I'm sure they will work better too.
