Replacement white walls

Post by salukispeed » Sun Jan 11, 2015 2:02 pm

I have a all original 66 CA 77 that originally had narrow white wall tires the white wall was only around 5/8 to 3/4 inch wide. I now have blackwalls and it is not the same. I prefer not to go to the very wide versions I have found. Does anyone know of a correct narrow version available.
Thanks

To my knowledge there are no narrow white walls currently available nor have there been for a long time.

Coker is now showing them as available.

Haven't checked to see if they actually available or not.

I've seen them listed on a couple vintage parts vendors as well. (i.e. Retro Bikes)

That's nice to know there is a supply out there.

I am so glad to see the tires on the site. I will have to see if they are truly available.
One more question
I prefer to replace the moderately rusty rims at the same time. Is there a source for correct rims for the bike. I am not going for prefect restored but a very good replacement.

Thanks for the tire tip and welcome

I just Ordered a pair of the firestone 5/8 white wall tires from Coker. I hope to get a set of rims by spring and then do the whole job. I did replace the wheel bearings when I put on new black walls from JC Whitney three years ago. Does anyone need a set of barely used 3.25/16 blackwalls for pretty cheap. I suppose the shipping is already too high.
