Dunstall mufflers
You may want to check basic alignment using a 24" carpenters level. With the front wheel pointed straight ahead, shim under the kickstand (if necessary) to make certain the front wheel is perpendicular to the ground (put the level vertically on the sidewalls of the front tire). Then check to see if the rear is also perpendicular. You can also try to sight across the swingarm tubes, to make sure that they're parallel (a lot easier to do when everything else is out of the way). A twisted rear fender as you noted, can also be the culprit. Regards, Chase

As I look at the pic again I think the rear of the fender is bent to the left.
Looking at the wheel spacing I don't see a problem.
I think for the wheel to be misaligned or the SA bent ya would see this at the front of the wheel at the area of the fender because for the wheel to be out of line this much at the rear it would/will be very visible at the front of the wheel.
Have a shot of the fender at the area where it is near the rear of the seat?
At this time I think if ya loosen the top fender bolts then bend the fender to the right and tighten the bolts the fender will be in line. .........lm

Installed correctly, the fenders are suppose to be just a little "off" on these anyway right?

Just got the bike back together and fixed the rear wheel problem. It was cocked to one side (not on axis of bike.) Dumb. I should have spotted it sooner. But, what the hey, I forgot to hook up the tach cable before I rode it this evening. Still have the noise, but did get the bushing replaced and the gears crossed in the tranny. Cam chain is apparently OK. Guess I'll just assume the noise is normal, and live with it.

Hmmmm............. nah, I think I'm pretty much the same as I was yesterday. (I did hook up the tach cable though.)
