Emco/Dunstal mufflers
Success!
Glad it worked out for you. Are you keeping the original mufflers or might they be for sale?

stock mufflers
Altho the stock mufflers are pretty rusty along the bottoms , I think I will see if the stockers will do me for a while, shame to put new shiny pipes on this old "barn find" ! Besides , I haven't been on a bike in 40 yrs , it may just scare the whee out of me these days !If it does , I will either sell the bike as a crusty runner , or just put it in my living room and look at it ! If I love it , next winter I will take it apart for a refurbish and continue to enjoy it ! If I decide to sell the pipes , I will mention it here first.Promise !
Re: stock mufflers
As I am thoroughly smitten with this addiction, I would be an interested potential buyer for your rusty runner in the future. I think she's a beaut as she sits now. I live about 2.5 hours from you, just northeast of Dallas, and I come to OKCity on occasion for business. If you're agreeable, maybe we can arrange a visit sometime and swap bike stories over a cold drink. Or maybe a hot drink, as you know what the weather has been like lately!Izoomx2 wrote:Altho the stock mufflers are pretty rusty along the bottoms , I think I will see if the stockers will do me for a while, shame to put new shiny pipes on this old "barn find" ! thanks !
I kinda like it as it sits also. the new mufflers are earmarked to be used if it runs badly or is nasty sounding with the stockers , at least this year , I think. P.O. rattle-canned it black some time ago , so I'm going with satin black with pinstripes for now ! If it turns out I love it , may go back to red next winter,,,,,,,maybe.
Re: Emco/Dunstal mufflers
Correct tire size is 3.25-16 front and rear.Izoomx2 wrote:besides the muffler/carb. jetting stuff , what about tires? shinko classic 240 tires will work , right??Izoomx2 wrote:I just got a pair of the reverse meg. mufflers and header pipes for the 305. What do I need to do to re-jet the carb. so I don't blue my new pipes? I know from reading the threads that some of you folks use this set-up, so , any tips for mounting, jetting will be greatly appreciated. BTW , the tank just got treated to a bead-blasting , re paint (satin black for now)and CREME treatment , carb is being vatted, petcock rebuilt , so I am getting real close ! Trying to post pix , is harder than wrenching on the bike !!
Those sizes are out there but a little hard to find, and the WW's are expensive when you do find them.
I don't think those shinkos come in the right size.
3.50 will work, and I think Scrambler Cycle, a member here, has those.
