Replacement clutch disc for 65 ca77???

Post by pickle » Tue Sep 21, 2010 10:02 pm

Hi,
I'm new in town (to this forum that is.) and just bought a 65 305 ca77E dream. The clutch is slipping just a little and engages close to the end of the lever, I'm sure I can adjust it and the cable and get by for a while. This got me checking on replacement disc for the clutch and so far I've found that you can get NOS disc at around $27.00 a piece which is kinda high in my book, So I was wondering is there another honda engine out there that uses the same disc as the ca77? Any help on this would be great. Oh and if there's not a cross reference where is the best place to get NOS.
Thanks,
Michael

You might want to take a look at http://www.ohiocycle.com on their Remanufactured and Aftermarket page. They show the 3.7mm Friction disks I have in my '68 CA77 (22201-268-20) for $14 vs the $26 on their NOS page. If you are using the 4mm disks (22201-266-000), they are listed at $10.

Have fun with your new find, I really like mine.

George
