what did I do RIGHT?

Post by mike1969 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 3:18 pm

I recently changed the throttle cable on my Dream because the idle speed wouldn't drop enough when I closed the throttle. Found several kinks and cracks in it. I lubed the new cable and the throttle tube with chain lube.

I've always had trouble finding neutral
Took it out for a 25 mile spin and it idles and runs very smooth. Now I have no trouble finding neutral!!! It's shifts as easy as my Goldwing!

Had a big grin on my face the whole ride!

Probably due to the idle being lowered by the new cable and lube. They are easier to shift when the idle is lower.

Davo,I figured that had a lot to do with it.

Seems almost everyone has trouble finding neutral on these bikes, would others benefit by lowering their idle speed? Or did I just happen upon a perfect clutch adjustment?

A combination of the two! I have a couple bikes that nuetral is no prob, and a couple where it is a prob. My cafe has the "810" springs, and nothing is easy with that bike!
