Nope , just dirt. No media per say. Clean er out and put it back together. Might make sure the sprocket that drives the filter is tight? No turning, no filter. ya know?

Heya.

The filter spins and dirt particles (mostly being heavier than the oil) get thrown to the outside of the walls and get trapped along the inner veins. You should see some crud and sludgy build up along the inside of those veins.

If not, either someone recently cleaned it, or something ain't Kosher.

Oil filter

Hi Dlobby - don't forget to put the thin washer on the OUTSIDE of the filter. It is a shim that keeps the oil spinner from eating up the outside case. Take it from me - I have experience in this problem! I must have lost the little washer many moons ago and never knew about it after that. Needless to say, my case was getting eaten up! Loudmouse saved me with a washer/shim, and I'm back in business.
