proper gearing

Post by maia » Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:42 pm

I have a 63' CB77 VIN CB77-314569 that sounds like it's under geared. 13T front and 40T rear. Can anyone tell if this is the correct gearing. Thanks

gearing

Maia,
You are very right about that. I don't know the cb's as well but 15/32 comes to mind for some reason or somewhere around that ratio. Even the cl's are 15/37 with a 19" tire and the cb with an 18" tire would have much longer legs. Hope I've been a help,,,,,,,,Rusty

Standard gearing for a CB77 would be 15/30. The CB72's were 15/32. Regards, Chase
