puzzled by clutch assembly CB77puzzled by clutch assembly CB77this is my first time so must be something dumb. I think all the parts are there and assembled in the right order, but i can't get the pressure plate to move. without the pressure plate in place, i can see that if i squeeze the clutch the clutch lifter piece moves out about 1/8 or so,but when put the pressure plate in place with no springs it doesn't move. if i then screw the right-side adjustment to push the clutch lifter out a little, thinking maybe it's just that it isn't contacting the inside of the pressure plate, then i can't squeeze the clutch lever at all. it locks up.
Re: puzzled by clutch assembly CB77Did you put the Clutch Lifter Joint in the shaft before you put the pressure plate in the basket?. ......lm
clutch problem replyyes. clutch lifter rod from adjuster barrel on right thru tranny shaft. clutch lifter piece inserted in clutch center on left side. then pressure plate. as i said, when the adjuster is turned counter-clockwise to the max, squeezing the lever moves the rod but not the pressure plate. if i turn the adjuster clockwise to make contact, then i can't squeeze the clutch at all. Nothing moves. Is there some initial setting of the adjuster i am missing?
ball bearing in clutch lifteri see now that the lifter bottoms out against the end of the main shaft. the cup in the lifter is too deep. am i missing a ball bearing that fits in there and contacts the end of the lifter shaft? if so, do you know the dimension so i can try to find one?
ball bearingthank you, Chase. you have been very helpful.
