No.
It goes on the shaft up to the pin then the filter goes onto the shaft and the shaft installs into the case. ....lm

Just so I get this straight:
so the washer (really thin) goes in between the casing that bolts back on the motor and the pin on the rod that has the pin facing 12:00?

I'll share one more experience-gained nugget, for now:
  • When splitting the crankcases, do NOT omit to remove the two nuts on top; when I was 16 my first CB spent its life with an oily rear tyre because I tried to, errr....., persuade the casings apart from the rear seam. And simply because, in my tiny mind, "those two nuts holding that little bracket can't possibly be holding the bottom casing in place"......!
My shoulders are broad enough to admit to former transgressions to help out others who may end up considering such numpty practices!

Hi,

Yes, Steve speaks in riddles, but I always find the meaning, and at the end your English will be better ?

Scottish usage: a) Someone who (sometimes unwittingly) by speech or action demonstrates a lack of knowledge or misconception of a particular subject or situation to the amusement of others. b) A good humoured admonition, a term of endearment c) A reckless, absent minded or unwise person

or (specially for US citizens) :

A person who never has or never will have a f*ing clue what he is doing

or (for the dutch) :

An idiot.

at your service,

Jensen
