I'm restoring a '63 CB77 and have decided to take the advice of others on this forum and replace both sprockets and the chain. I have quickly caught on to the fact that seemingly innocuous differences between parts which changed from year to year are not obvious. Take cables, for instance, where the offered part looks just like the one on your bike but it's an inch shorter.
To that end, I'm eyeing a 15T drive sprocket and the part number is 23801-268-030. A close inspection of my official parts manual reveals that the correct part number for my bike (serial #303xxx) would be 23801-268-020, and the 030 part would be for a newer model year bike. Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the 030 and the 020 part that would prevent the use of the 030 part on my bike?
Thanks in advance...
