cl77 with forward kick start?

Post by sotxbill » Wed Feb 04, 2009 9:38 pm

purchased a 66 cl77 and the motor is cl77103xxx
but the kick starter goes forward.. and the previous owner said that "ray" changed it when he turn the bike into a clubman77...

What was done and what does it take to return the bike to "factory".

Thanks, Bill

I'm confused.. what changes the direction of the kick starter? How do you change from a forward kick to a rear kick as the direction of the shaft changes rotation to the opposite direction.

I apologize as I have not have the cover off to look inside. Does this cover take a gasket?

Thanks, Bill

The CB72/77 has one more gear in the cover than the CL72/77. .............lm

No gasket. The covers are completely different, as the forward kicking coved has a gear to reverse direction. Everything is bolted to the cover, and it slips right off when you remove sidecover screws.
