14mm brass bushing

Post by nander » Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:11 pm

I've just started dissecting my transmission and I am wondering about how to judge the wear on the 14mm brass bushing. Should I be concerned about looseness in the fit between the bushing and the shaft or between the bushing and the gears?

Also, has anyone used one of the repops from Tim McDowell?

Thanks,

I have mine in pieces and it has noticable gear to bushing play. Nothing from bushing to shaft. I plan on replacing it w/ the one from the link you gave. I figure its a long ways back in there if it were to cause troubles. Cost is minimal.
