CLUTCH PLATE CLEANING
CLUTCH PLATE CLEANINGWHAT IS BEST TO CLEAN MY CLUTCH PACK WITH?THANKS
Re: CLUTCH PLATE CLEANINGFly, 1st off, Welcome. I'm courious as to why the discs need cleaning. Has the bike set for awhile? When I got my cb77 running after a long storage the clutch would engage all at once. Kinda hard to drive. I just replaced the discs and it is now real good. It seems to me that (depending on the problem) you might be better off replacing them. Let us know whats up with that clutch. Steve Greer
Re: CLUTCH PLATE CLEANINGI WAS JUST CURIOUS WHAT I COULD CLEAN THEM WITH SINCE I READ ON HERE SOMEWHERESOMEONE HAD DONE THAT BUT THEY DID NOT SAY WHAT THEY USED. CLUTCH DOES STICK ALITTLE AFTER START UP. DISKS COULD USE REPLACING THOUGH. I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY SECOND GEAR SINCE IT FEELS LIKE IT SLIPS ONLY IN THAT GEAR AND NOT THE OTHERS. I SAW ANOTHER POST THAT DESCRIBED A PROBLEM LIKE MINE. I WAS TOLD THE CLUTCH DISKS DO GET WARPED OVER TIME AND CAN CAUSE STICKING. I DID PUT ANOHTER USED CLUTCH PACK ON FROM A SPARE ENGINE I HAVE. I HAVE A SET OF GEARS TO PUT ON IF NEEDED ALSO.CAN ANYONE PROVEDE ME WITH THE SEAL SIZES FOR THE BOTTOM END? I SAW ONE POSTED FOR THE SHIFTER SHAFT ON HERE SOMEWHERE BUT NEED THE OTHERS(CRANK, FORK SHAFT SEAL, ETC.)I WAS TOLD A BEARING SUPPLY HOUSE MAY SELL THE SEALS I NEED IF I CANNOT FIND HONDA SEALS. THANKS
Re: CLUTCH PLATE CLEANINGOOO YA, just like mine! You'll have to get into the transmission to repair the skipping in second. As far as seals go just buy a seal kit,I got mine from Ohio cycle.com (ask for Nick) it containes all the seals you'll need. With you having an extra gear set you should have it made,Good luck!
