shift fork rollers

Post by nander » Sun Aug 16, 2009 10:43 am

Here's one for the experts.

Which way do the shift fork rollers get placed into the shift drum?

The ends of each roller are not identical: at one end there is an exterior bevel edge (photo 1) and at the other an interior beveled edge (photo 2) -- so, I imagine there is a right way and a wrong way to install them.

Is the end with the interior bevel (second photo) designed to accept the shoulder of the shift drum pin?

Thanks,
nander

Nander:
Just joined this blog; if you haven't gotten an answer, I believe the outside bevel rides in the shift drum. If my memory serves me the bolt/pin that screws into the fork had a bevel that would mate with the inside bevel of the roller.
