Spring, shift drum stopper

Post by toastyhamster » Wed Oct 07, 2009 9:37 am

Part number: 24435-250-000

Anybody know the length this is supposed to be? I've got engine back in the frame and started to re-assemble the clutch side. The shift drum stopper and its guide were slightly bent and looking at the stopper it looks like it had been out of place for some time as the smaller shoulder on the back of it had actually been facing against the shift drum and is obviously worn. Soon corrected that but the spring may be the wrong one. When I put the spring on it has a tendency to bow out alarmingly and even flew off a couple of times, on the spring there are shiny marks where it may have been rubbing on the back of the clutch case. It looks about 5cm long - is this right? I guess it may stay in place with the clutch cover in place but it doesn't look right.

The kickstart works! yay!

Thanks for the PM davomoto - confirming it should be 28mm long and mine is 45!
