2nd gear

Post by DrScott » Thu Mar 30, 2006 12:27 pm

Loud Mouse: I have read with interest your postings re: the shifting mechanism. I have a similar situation; mine will miss 2nd gear and with a reshift goes into third. I have purchased a drum and forks on Ebay. The drum looks OK but there is wear on the fork ends. Where do you find them in " as new " condition? I have yet to split the case as I have had plenty of other issues to deal with so I am not wure what I will find in there.
Thanks
SS

Mouse - Isn't there a bolt that has to be removed on the shift drum roller bracket that connects the two cases also?

Yes. One has to remove the entire clutch to get to the LARGE BOLT to remove the "Shift Drum Stopper Guide" then the cases can be split. ........lm
