Kickstart pawl pin/spring assembly help

Post by sjkowal » Sat Apr 04, 2015 7:36 pm

For the life of me I can't figure out where the pawl pin and spring go relative to the spindle and pawl. During disassembly the pawl pin fell out of the bottom case and I never found the spring. Do the pin and spring go somewhere else? Any help is appreciated.

I just put mine in last night and reassembled my transmission. The spring and the little nub go down in the hole, then you turn your "Uppercase B" around 180 so that the flat part of the piece rests against the nub/spring.

Is the hole you refer to the one that's in the red box on this picture? I was expecting a hole here on the kick starter spindle but it's just a notch. I cannot see how the spring and pin would fit here unless it was a hole. Is it possible that there's something wedged in here?
