Mike

I agree. Great people. They take all of their tooling and stock to the shows and make chains up on site.

Now I hope they send me the money.

I had an email conversation with Ellis Moore and it seems that the cover plate recess on his clutch sprocket may be an error. I'll also look at the tensioner sprocket when I get some workshop time back home.

Hi Davo

It's been a long time. Nice to see you back here.

Yes the big sprocket is aluminum. No reason why you couldn't get one made in steel, though. Ellis Moore dows bespoke parts.

I got two kits - one for the CB77 and another for a "500" engine I acquired with CB450 crank parts. The engine sprocket for that one had a different spline.

Thanks Graham!! I'm so busy with a full time job, plus the shop I rarely get to visit the forum anymore. I'm building a CB77 engine with the bore tech 64mm kit, and Harmon Collins roller rockers and cams. I've been messing with clutch components, trying to figure where I can shave weight. I was thinking an aluminum clutch sprocket would shave a good bit of weight, but where to get one????

Davo

Ellis More would make you one or you could buy an off the shelf duplex one and modify it.

Primary drive chain

Post by mark acker » Tue Aug 29, 2017 3:52 pm

Does anyone know where a primary drive chain, located in the right side crank case cover for 1967 CL77 305 scrambler can be purchased? Mine has too much slack.

The chain tensioner was replaced, has not solved the problem. The chain is hitting the top of the crank case cover, causing wear.

I have had problems locating one, the suppliers that I have used all say it is no longer available, I don't want to get someone else's used one with the same problem, which seems to be what it out there on ebay.
