1967 cl77 rear sprocket

Post by agss563 » Tue Feb 20, 2018 8:11 pm

Need help with rear sprocket installation, on late model hub. Sprocket has a recess that either fits over the hub, or faces out with the dust cover installed in it. Do not know which way to install. Manual shows dust cover on outside of sprocket, but does not show the recess.
Thank You

Flat side of the sprocket goes against the hub, dust shield fits into the recessed side.

I think the recess is only provided to give a bit more clearance between the fixing nuts/bolts and the rear suspension units. They run very close, especially on the CB models, and I think would foul each other if the sprocket wasn't recessed.
