Replacing drive chain cb77

Post by akpasta » Wed Aug 26, 2020 9:31 am

Hey all,

My drive chain broke yesterday and I was incredibly lucky it slid out the back instead of locking up the front. Is there a way to replace a drive chain on a cb77 without removing the exhaust and kickstart cover? I know the easy one if your old chain is still attached you can link them and pull it through, but mine is not. Taking all that off isn’t a big deal but faster if I don’t have to. Truth he told I should use this as an opportunity to inspect the front sprocket but I’m Curious if there’s any tricks nonetheless.

Thanks!

Well I got the "hard" part done easily enough, replaced the chain and noticed I had a spare 15T front sprocket lying around so I just threw it in there. Surprising how much smoother the bike pulls with a new chain and sprocket.

Waiting on a replacement 32T rear from sprocket specialists now, and will replace that when I get it. Ah, nice new drive train!
