Shifter pedal sloppy

Post by Dana01 » Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:41 am

Hi gang.

Has anyone developed a bronze bushing to take up the slack in the shifter pedal?

I replaced the grease-fitting bolt with new repro. The slop is lessened, but the shifter still flops around. A previous post yielded the Aluminum can liner, which I tried, and may try again, but I think I prefer a new pedal or better yet a bronze bushing to line the pedal mount hole.

Thanks!
Dana

Hi Ed.

The bolt (and grease nipple) are new from Nick and look fine. One other thing, with so much slop, I'm afraid any grease I shoot in will ooze back out.

Thanks Ed. I may see if I can get a machine shop to make me a part ... or just look for a new one :)
