kick stsrt pawl adjustment

Post by dave305 » Fri Jan 06, 2012 7:19 pm

I am going to put my cl 77 engine back together and i want to make sure the kick start pawl that engages in the first gear is adjusted correctly, how far away should the spring and pin hold the pawl away from the first gear teeth that the pawl engages in the neutral position? Is the some spec. of 5 or 20 thou. or something?
Thanks for the help.
