Looks like the popping the exhaust on over run is ok, to be fair to Honda this one has no silencer baffles (muffler and diffuser for you US customers) fitted or did they not fit then on the 1962 CB72.

Still my Favorite Honda well the CB77.
One for Graham this I think.

Weak mixture and poss a holed piston if used at high speed for a long time time you need to rejet your carb or carbs, and popping on over run see video and that was Honda they should know better at the end of the day future generations could see this bike and think this is how they were made museums have to get it right also any one writing a book will also use the bike as beaing correct and so it go's on.
On the subject of CB72/77 I purchased a new CB72 and CB77 back in early 60's and Honda never painted under the tank and the oil in the forks was so bad (fish oil I think) rev the bike hard and rear light bulbs went at alarming rate, std tyre were lethal in the wet. yes and many more problems but boy they were light years ahead of the competition one day I will put down my views on these amazing bikes before I leave this mortal soil.
One last thing ALL the road test one see in the classic magazines today of classic bikes are of machines that have been restored and not the real thing, the old mags do have the real bikes in them now that's another story old road test I knew Bob Curry well and he told many a story of them road test and he rode them all back here in England.
